Unique test set-up for robustness of structures

Green concrete

2014-05-24 /// The Polytechnical University of Catalonia and UGent joined forces on developing concrete surfaces as biological substratum, a concept to increase green areas in cities. The work resulted in a joint PhD on 'Bioreceptivity optimisation of concrete substratum to stimulate biological colonisation' by Sandra Manso Blanco, of which the public defence takes place 3 June 2014 at 16:00 at the the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (Jozef Plateaustraat, Gent).

FESG wins FIREFORUM AWARD 2013

2013-11-23 /// DBm spin-off Fire Engineered Solutions Ghent (FESG) wins the Fireforum Awards 2013 in the category engineering offices. The Fireforum Award honors people or organizations that ​​meritorious contributed to the world of firefighting. The jury highlighted the work of FESG for the conversion of an underground station into a disco in the city of Liege. This project included large challenges for the evacuation facilities and smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems due to the architecture of the station.
